Cattle Shed Equipment

The width and length of cow beds are determined by the size of the cows, feeding methods, and herd size:

Short cow beds are generally 1.6–1.8 meters in length,

Long cow beds are generally 2–2.4 meters, offering more space for movement.

The width of cow beds depends not only on the size of the cows but also on facilitating milking operations, generally 1.1–1.3 meters.

There are various ways to secure dairy cows, including fixed headlocks, straight chain headlocks, and horizontal chain headlocks.
